Brownfield Redevelopment Webinar
Northeast Ohio has a long and proud history of being a manufacturing center for the world; however, this sometimes results in vacant industrial properties that may be polluted. This threat of contamination prevents sites from being reused for new businesses, housing, or parks. Pursuing the remediation and redevelopment of abandoned properties is therefore one of the nine key Vibrant NEO themes. This panel discussion brings together leaders across sectors who all have experience with brownfield remediation and redevelopment. Join us to learn how the public, private, and nonprofit sectors can all work together to revitalize these sites, create jobs, and protect the environment. Moderator: Diana Rife, Senior Project Manager for Revitalization, JobsOhio Panelists: Aaron Clapper, Senior Manager of Outreach and Projects, Greater Ohio Policy Center Mike Gammella, Mayor, City of Brookpark Matt Kanicki, Vice President, The Arthur Louis Steel Company Dan Tjoelker, Lead Brownfield Coordinator, Ohio EPA
